Membership with the McCain Memorial Public Library is FREE to anyone living in St. Clair County. To open a new library card, patrons must show a current piece of mail and a picture identification. Children may have their own library cards, but must be linked to a valid adult library card.
Patrons must sign-in before using public computers. You do not have to have a library card to use computers. Patrons are welcome to use the library WiFi on personal laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices at no charge.
Children 10 years of age and under must be monitored by an adult when using computers. Children 11-17 years of age must have an adult present in the library to use computers.
Patrons may print or copy for $0.20 per page. If printing or copying items for church or school use, the fee is $0.10 per page. If printing or copying more than 20 pages, the fee is $0.10 per page. There is no additional charge for color prints.
Patrons may send and receive a fax for $2.00 per fax. There is no page limit on faxing.
The McCain Memorial Public Library encourages the use of our library and programs by children. However, library staff are not responsible for the care or supervision of children in the library, nor are staff responsible for the safety of children left alone in the library who may be targeted by predators. It is the responsibility of the child's parent or adult caregiver to supervise the child's activities in the library, to ensure the child's safety at all times, and to make sure the child's actions do not disrupt the library or other patrons.
