Collections
The library maintains a meaningful collection of current fiction of those genres that are widely read by our patrons. The library maintains most classics of American and British literature. The youth services library collects easy readers, and juvenile and young adult fiction and nonfiction.
The library maintains a current, accurate, and useful reference collection of directories, encyclopedias and dictionaries, and other materials. To aid both students and adults engaged in lifelong learning, the library provides a circulating collection of nonfiction materials on such topics as the law, health and medicine, computer technology, travel and leisure, and hobbies and handicrafts.
A small, focused collection of genealogy and local history materials is maintained by the library. The library strives to collect all materials on Eufaula and Barbour County; as space and funds permit, the library collects materials on other Alabama counties.
The library provides a suitable collection of audiovisual materials in such formats as compact disc, VHS cassette tapes, and DVDs.
Many periodicals and other materials not available in the library can be accessed through the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) or through interlibrary loan.
