Thank you for visiting the website of the Newton Library Museum! We serve a population of around 2,300 as well as surrounding areas within Dale County. Our library is a two-story building with the library being on the bottom floor and a museum on the top floor. It started out in 1922 as the Baptist Collegiate Institute after the first one burned down in 1911. Later, it became many different things and now holds many treasures of our town and our beloved library collection.
We are proud to announce that we now have an up to date, computer lab with 10 computers. We also have a separate computer for our veterans and the physically disabled community. There is also an addition of our study room that has its own computer along with isolation for maximum concentration potential. We also have added a meeting room and an arts and crafts center in our community room!
We are back open to do musem tours. All museum tours are free. Please e-mail us at newtonlibrarymuseum@gmail.com for anything you may need. We can also have your prints ready to pick up if you call ahead and send your document(s) to the e-mail listed. Also, find us on Facebook. Thank you again for visiting and we hope to see you soon!
